Race Description and Information


This Nordic race event is open to participants of all age groups. It is a Junior National Qualifier and a community race.


Saturday, February 23 is a Classic Ski race. If you are in the Selkirk Series it is the final competitive race in that series. Otherwise this event offers a two day competition. Sunday, February 24 is a Freestyle race. The distance each skier will race is dependent on his/her age group.


*Important Update: by skier request, the J4 race distance has been increased from 1 km to 3 km.


Race Formats:

Saturday, February 23: Classic race with mass start

Sunday, February 24: Freestyle (skating) Individual Interval Start

Parking at the Selkirk Lodge: WA Snow Park Permit is required for parking for this weekend event 


Awards/Race Scoring:

  1. Each day (Saturday: a classic race and Sunday: a freestyle race) awards will be given to the top three skiers in each category.

  2. The “Selkirk Series” has been included in this event and will conclude after Saturday’s classic race. Selkirk Series Awards for the series will be given after the completion of the Saturday race.

  3. The Lollipop Race will be included in Sunday’s races. Children under 6 yrs old will have the chance to complete a race and collect a lollipop for participating.

Announcement of the PNSA Junior Nationals Team will occur after the awards have been given on Sunday.

Registration:

  1. Online registration is required for participants wishing to compete in the Junior National Qualifier. Early registration closes at midnight on February 15, 2013. Late registration is available for an additional $15 until Noon on Friday Feb 22,  2013.
  2. For non-JNQ categories (Master and Senior) online registration is strongly encouraged, but “Day of Race” registration  will be available at the Selkirk Lodge for an additional $25 fee. Lollipop Racers do not register until race time.

Awards:
